How to apply

Before you apply check if you are eligible.

Charities seeking support should apply in writing.

Include in your application:

  • introduction to your charity and the work you undertake – no more than 2 sides of printed A4 please
  • your funding application, including the amount you are requesting and any particular project for which the money may be used – up to 2 further sides of printed A4 is suggested for this.

The trustees appreciate applicants observing the following:

  • details being presented succinctly and without repetition
  • important essential information being clear and concise
  • ideally a website address should be provided for items such as Report and Accounts and detailed project plans and costings, rather than lots of printed information contained within applications.

In consideration of costs and the environment, the trustees encourage charities applying for grants to avoid including glossy brochures, supplemental marketing material and reply-paid envelopes.

Post your application to:

Trust Administrator – The Oakley Charitable Trust
Office 25 Quadrant Court
48 Calthorpe Road
Edgbaston
Birmingham
B15 1TH

Applications cannot be accepted by email.

What happens next?

Generally, our trustees meet 3 times per year and grants are awarded, by cheque through the post, to successful applicants in the weeks following each meeting.

Whilst every application is carefully considered, for administrative reasons we are not able to reply to unsuccessful submissions and do not enter into further correspondence.  We are unable to deal with any telephone or email enquiries.

Due to the volume of applications received, the trustees draw attention to the Grant-making Policy and priority given to West Midlands charities. Consequently, unless there is a prior relationship, applications from outside of the area are unlikely to be successful, other than national charities for work within the West Midlands.

Unsuccessful applicants may apply again the next year.

We do not make retrospective grants.
